The Belenenses, 2009
The Belenenses Liga Vitalis descended to last season, having been invited by the Portuguese League to take the place of demoted Estrela da Amadora, obtaining in this way access to the Premier League and in practical terms to maintain the highest level of Portuguese football.
After a disastrous season, the new president of the club changed the political discourse and the football department. There was a bet on the "cantera" blue also due to economic reasons, given the precarious state of finances of the club Restelo.
So the new season brought more of a blue revolution in the squad, with the exit and entry of many players. This transfer period, deserves to remain players like Candido and Jose Pedro Costa on the roster, while the outputs were most relevant to transfer of Julius Caesar to return to Benfica and União de Leiria to Silas.
Entries Nelson (former Amadora) and Beto, in this return to Portugal after a few years in the Spanish league as well as loans "sounding" of Freddy Adu and Benfica Fellipe Bastos, and Bruno Vale FC Porto gave Blues hope to supporters of a championship more relaxed than in the 2008/2009 season.
The choice fell on head coach Juan Carlos Pereira Welcome to Estoril, brought some youth and ambition to Restelo a clear bet on the future and team building.
What happens is that after 14 days, the club Restelo ranks last with 10 points with only one win (2nd day in front of the Naval Restelo 2-0) with seven draws and six defeats, which detach the rout by 0 -4 against Benfica and 0-3 Pacos de Ferreira front, both in Restelo.
Up to this moment and at the turn of year we can point to as the best results of the blue, ties in Alvalade (0-0) before a team leonina already in crisis and the Dragon (1-1) FC Porto with a little inspired. The team has revealed a poor game in technical quality and it was pointed out by commentators and fans of short supply in some games, being the pinnacle of the game against the Maritime Restelo which ended in a draw the two balls.
In this panorama of little sporting success, it was revealed here and there, through the players themselves, the breaches in the full and timely payment of wages. The football team proved to be fragile and unable to respond to adversity in the financial field, and without addressing some quality opponents they would be at their level, multiplying the home defeats (4).
The offensive inefficiency is the most serious problem Restelo team that has only seven goals scored and is on par with the Vit. Setúbal least accomplishing of the team, and having the mark of nine games without scoring. This is a serious problem that is not based solely on attacking blue line injuries, highlighting the serious injury of Yontcha because Belenenses statically is that fewer teams shooting at the opposing goal.
The situation in the league table and the lack of solutions presented led to the departure of Juan Carlos Pereira and the direction of the DSS blue António Conceição who was hired in Romania to train Cluj.
However some players were dismissed and that Freddy Adu and Fellipe Bastos returned to light having never managed to impose himself on the team, missing the massive expectations generated from the beginning of time around these two athletes.
The future of Belenenses proves once again uncertain and shadow hangs over the further decline Restelo ...

Despite not having a squad to play higher, this could Belenenses well organized (and still can) make a quiet championship. Take this 11:
Nelson
Mano
Beto
Diakité
Tiago Gomes
Gavilán
Celestino

With this 11, only one can not aspire to more than one championship quiet because the bank is very young.
