It was formed by Belenenses, released by the team Marinho Peres but only the passage through Naval 1 º de Maio gave the showcase he needed to assert themselves in Portuguese football. Now aged 30, John Paul Silva Freitas Fajardo, known in only the last name, is for the second time in Vitoria Guimaraes. If the rookie year scored four goals in the first five rounds and was leading figure in the historic qualification for the Champions League already this season Fajardo has been first-choice Manuel Cajuda. Finta & REMATAR - gave the order last year, with an unusual scoring vein but has lost space in Victoria this year. What changed?
FAJARDO - Change I do not think anything has changed, at least in personal terms. I continue to be the same player and commit myself to training after training and game after game as if it were the last of my career. Sometimes we leave for one reason or another to be used so assiduously but the secret is to never lower our guard and continue to work just the same and that is what I have done.
M & R - Next season, we'll see Fajardo in Guimaraes, or are there other possibilities?
F. - I have one more year contract with Guimaraes, much like the Club, the city and would like to continue, but who can never walk in to talk football with 100% certainty about the future.
M & R - In 30 years, still dreams of a stranger passing by?
F. - Dreaming is not the right word, but still long for a stranger passing through. Besides being a very enriching experience in professional terms, is also in personal terms. It still covet.
F & R - and a call to the National Team, is still in its objectives?
F. - If I said no, I would be lying. Represent our country is the pinnacle for any player. As the poet says, "The dream drives the life," and I still dream of a call to the selection, with the feet on the ground and knowing beforehand that it is extremely difficult, but continuing to work to this end.

F & R - In your opinion, what changes in Vitoria Guimaraes 'feel' of last season and this year?
F. - We had several changes in the squad for last season and unfortunately for all were buffeted by many injuries, some of which have prevented key players in the squad to make their contribution. We always had the notion that it would be extremely difficult to repeat last season because it was an extraordinary time at all levels, but continue to give our maximum to the end to try to end the season in the best possible place.
F & R - How was playing in the Champions League?
F. - Playing in the Champions League was a unique moment in my career. Only those who play in a competition of these do you know the feeling there is. A moment undoubtedly for later recall.
F & R - They felt disgusted by the way were eliminated by Basel?
F. - It was mixed feelings, but of course that the revolt was part of them, with a mixture of anguish and injustice for everything that happened. Did not deserve to be removed from the form of proof that we were, and it was extremely difficult to overcome this moment because it would be something unique in the career of much of the squad.
F & R - What is your opinion on the position taken by the club in case of early season, in which Guimaraes and Benfica were in favor of excluding from FC Porto in European competition?
F. - Frankly these are issues beyond me. If those in charge of the club so understood it was because they thought was best for the Club.
F & R - with Benfica's victory once again put the hypothesis of a classification for European competitions but defeats against FC Porto and Sporting fans left again pessimistic. Still believes that is possible?
F. - Certainly I believe as well that a victory over Benfica, still more fully the Stadium of Light, raises much self-confidence of the team and put us closer to the places that give access to European competitions. So everything and believe in our worth, I think you can still qualify for a European competition, but I know it will be extremely difficult.
F & R - What differences felt between Benfica and FC Porto?
F. - I think in terms of value, both collective and individual, teams are very much like, but the big difference was in terms of completion. FC Porto virtually ends with success all the opportunities available to it and there is a big difference.
F & R - E Sporting, the last of the big three who faced and where they were at an advantage in the label?
F. - I put Sporting on the same level of Benfica and FC Porto. There are three great teams with great players, most of which are international by their countries. But as I said earlier there is a difference in my opinion, in terms of completion, in which the FC Porto stands.
F & R - It was formed in Belenenses but finally make his debut as a senior at Fisherman's guesthouse. How was your trip to get to work?
F. - The way my training was all done in CF Belenenses but eventually represent Pescadores da Caparica in my first two seasons as a professional in the 3rd division. It was a superb course which represented one of the great clubs of our Football, Belenenses, and where it was a privilege to be part of that house for many years.
F & R - Why you never got to say Belenenses?
F. - It's always difficult to find reasons why things did not go as we wanted. A club where I was many years and where I made great friends, but today it is difficult to find reasons not to my statement.
R & F - Always wanted to be a footballer?
F. - Yes, I believe that as many young people nowadays, I always dreamed of being a footballer. Since very little with friends that our company was the football and usable all the free time to play.
F & R - How Manuel Cajuda as coach?
F. - It's essentially a coach who always puts the group as a whole, ahead of any individuality and this has been his key to success. I think his career speaks for itself: a coach with many years of his career, with many successes and sensational seasons.
F & R - What is the coach most memorable?
F. - How could no longer be the coach who most impressed me was Marinho Peres. It was from him that I made my debut for Belenenses, but above all marked me for his great personality and his constant good mood.
F & R - And in terms of goals, especially remembering what?
F. - I remember the goal obtained in Basel, penalty, because so far was the epitome of my career. A presence in the Champions League and then with a goal.

F. - This season no doubt for me the best player is the Hulk of FC Porto.
F & R - Best player I have ever encountered?
F. - The best player that ever played against, because it's my childhood idol, is undoubtedly the João Vieira Pinto.
F & R - Last season was the best of your career?
F. - Yes, last season was the best of my career. Collectively, as everyone knows, the victory over the league in third place and secured thereby qualifying for the qualifying round Champions League, and in personal terms have been used in most games, and has contributed with five goals.
F & R - It is said that in terms of supporters, Vitoria Guimaraes is the large room. It really is a special mystique?
F. - It's really a special mystique players and we felt it. It is a special club because city people have only one club, Vitória Sport Clube, and support it unconditionally. We see this every day in practice and in all activities that the club comes in, not only in football but in all sports. Hence, it is even a special club.
F & R - is a man of new technologies?
F. - Yes, I can say that. I love being on the computer and I like to follow and be updated in terms of technology.
F & R - What sites usually visit?
F. - My Official Site, the Maisfutebol, the Finta & Remate , from its previous format blog, the website of the Association Always Win and the Daily News .
